Temple Beth Sholom's Teen Banned Book Club is doing a movie showing of Perks of Being a Wallflower for teens in the wider Miami community to increase awareness around book banning and raise money for PEN America's Florida office. Florida is banning books at a higher rate than any other state in the country. The PEN America Florida team applies legal advocacy, policy and legislative initiatives, and community organizing to move the needle on book access in Florida.

While the event is free, we are asking for a $15 donation to Pen America at registration or at the door. Concessions will be sold at the event, with proceeds also going to donations.
